Problem- Overpopulation
Tokyo's has huge population of over 13 million people. making it one of japans largest cities. a large population can create issues such as over population. leaving the cities crowded and cramped. it can become very difficult to accommodate everybody's needs. especially when it comes to jobs leading to a rise in unemployment and a decline in enconomy.
Solution
A solution to this problem could be to build more apartment buildings. Housing may be smaller but they would still include all the essential necessities for living. This way Tokyo could accommodate for more people in a smaller space. Another solution to the over population in Tokyo is to decentralise the city and provide job opportunities elsewhere in bid to distribute the population to other parts of Japan.
Problem- Resources
Another problem that Tokyo could face because of their huge population is a lack of resources. These resources could be water, foods, wood and fuels.More people means more resources even when there is hardly enough to go around.
Solution
A solution to this problem is to reduce the the exportation of Japans goods to other parts of the world in order to keep more of the products for the cities growing needs. Create jobs in rural areas on farms to ensure that foods can be harvested locally and become available to the population.
Problem- Transport
There isn't enough public transport for everyone. although Tokyo public transport system is one of the best in the world, it isn't enough to accommodate for tokyos high population.
Solution
More transport could be fitted into Tokyo's schedule, for example instead of a train coming very 5 minutes a train could come every 2 or 3 minutes. Tokyo's transport system primarily relies on trains for transport but by adding more busses and trams to the city it ould be easier for the cities going population to get around.
